19th Judicial Circuit

From the HFI Director

We have been reaching out to our HFI families (past and present) to provide on-going case management services. We are informing the families of school related services that can help them during this time such as curbside meal pick up, broadband public hot spot locations, tips for virtual school and reminding the middle school parents of the summer reading assignment. We are continuing to assist these families by identifying new problems such as: housing issues, obstacles with access to online school, food insecurities, financial difficulties and basic need issues.  We are following up with these families and working with them while emphasizing the importance of online learning and adhering to social distancing.

Feeding the Hungry

Judas has been volunteering with his fraternity (Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc.) two to three days out of the week, feeding students from Macon County Schools.

Judas has also been helping his church, Living by Faith Worship Center, cook and serve Wetumpka Police and Fire Departments last week, and this week he will be doing the same thing for Elmore County Police Department.

Complying with Virtual Attendance

Sheena reached out to the truancy officer in Elmore County and offered to help him contact the families that are not complying with the virtual school attendance policy.
