The negative effects of Covid-19 have placed hardships on families world-wide.

For many, hopelessness and despair plague our nation, our states and our counties.

By distributing new children’s clothing to families in Midfield, Alabama, the West-Jefferson Helping Families Initiative, of the DA’s Office, Bessemer Division, endeavored to spread a little joy through the Midfield Curbside Market on Friday, May 15, 2020.

The steady flow of vehicles lined the curb at Midfield Elementary School. The parents smiling faces were shining bright when they received clothing, shoes and accessories for their children.

Social distancing practices were embraced.

Our DA, Lynneice Olive Washington and a few of her assistants enjoyed engaging with parents while breaking away from the mounds of cases to prosecute. They had the time of their lives.

From the box to the tables. WJHFI and Midfield City Schools staff practice social distancing while sorting the clothing.
